About Cochos collection

a concave cork vessel, similar to a large ladle, used for drinking water from natural springs.
The Cochos Collection was born out of a desire to bring back into our daily lives objects carrying immense cultural value.
Harvested and crafted by skilled hands, these cork ladles were traditionally used to scoop water from springs. In more recent times, they became symbols of bygone eras, used almost exclusively as decorative items.

There were two Cochos collections: the initial one in 2016 and a second in 2021. The first was produced in earthenware (faiança) with vibrant colors, while the second was simpler, in white stoneware (grés).
At the moment, this collection is out of production, with only a few pieces available in our online shop. However, you can see them in several restaurants across the country, such as the award-winning Desarma in Madeira or Marlene, by the renowned chef Marlene Vieira.
The first restaurant to feature these pieces was Taberna d'Vila in Grândola, which still uses a complete set of the Cochos family today.
